Connect123 - "Tree of Life" at Tygerberg Children's Hospital

Another lovely group of "Childlife" students from America visited the Children's Oncology Ward at the Tygerberg Hospital.

Anthea Lewis, our strong and much loved angel from TLC (Tough Living With Cancer) welcomed us again into a world where children are bravely fighting cancer.

The arts and crafts theme for the morning was "Tree of Life". To create their tree on canvas, the students guided the children with stencils and showed the children how to use paint and their fingers to depict little leaves. They then had fun sticking as many butterflies as possible onto their canvases. Some kids added beautiful swings to their trees. Also birds, flowers and animals. An abundance of life and love.

Each tree being one of a kind, with strong trunks and unique fingerprints.

"There are two gifts we should give our children.
The one is roots.
The other is wings to fly."
-J.W. Goethe

Thank you to the amazing staff, doctors, nurses and Anthea. Your compassion and hard work is so admirable. We are eternally thankful.

Also a shout out to the Spur Foundation for donating delicious Bos Ice Tea.
