Homework Circle

Who knew homework could be fun! A new Circle has started with 34 girls from the Sistahood in Imizamo Yethu. Malebo Malope is our very energetic and skilled volunteer who is the brains behind the Circle, that focuses on Mathematics, Life Science, Natural Science and English.

The purpose of the circle is to assist the girls with their studies in order to attain better results. Malebo hopes to achieve this by teaching the girls to create and use study notes, as well as implementing a study and homework time table. In doing this, it teaches the girls structure, time management as well as discipline in following a schedule - a lifelong skill!

So far, it is proving to be a dynamic space, filled with excitement, energy! The commitment from the girls has been inspiring and they have been actively involved in drawing up the group rules and contract for the duration of the Circle. In addition, they have set goals for themselves for each term in which they hope to see small differences in the beginning, with greater leaps in the future! This is a very exciting journey that we have embarked on and look forward to seeing the results in comparison to 2016.
