Hop on Hop Off Mini Peninsula Tour; Table Mountain National Park / Constantia Nek

Sozo Foundation, Vrygrond; Vanguard Primary School

Sisanda Connect #2.2

The CONNECT fun continues ...

After spending a relationship-building Connect Day together in February, the teenage volunteers from the Sozo Foundation and "their children" from Vanguard Primary School have been on an exciting "Adventure Day" together - literally exploring the beauty of Cape Town! We all went around a Mini Peninsula Tour on the "Hop on Hop off" bus (see Sisanda Connect Day #2.1 for a more detailed description) - with an adventurous, fun & educational break in between, hiking through the woods of Table Mountain National Park at Constantia Nek. Out of the 12 kids/teenager participants, 6 had never been on a hike and the sparkle in their eyes as well as their pockets full of forest-treasures (sticks, stones and pine-tree cones) gave their delight away. At the half-way-hiking break, the kids and their volunteers made beautiful necklaces from tree-bark - have a look at the pictures below :)

Overall: what a beautiful day! Thank you to everyone who made this outing as successful as it turned out to be! Special mention again to Woolworths, whose generous donation financed this day, to City Sightseeing for offering us a special rate to hop on and off their "topless bus", to Knead Bakery for a yummy-delicious sandwich-lunch, to Black Wagon for the stylish and classy transport to and from our meeting point and lastly to 16-year old Jean-Pierre (one of our Sozo Foundation volunteers from Vrygrond) for capturing the essence of this day on camera. We knew you could do this! Well done :)
