Fish Hoek Beach and Muizenburg Promenade

A-Muiz-ment Day

For this Fun Day we teamed up with African Knights Safari Tours and a group of young Americans here from Brockport University to take 30 boys and girls from Westlake out. Orphan Care Foundation (OF) works closely with the orphaned and vulnerable children in the Westlake Community. OF aims to create lasting partnerships between churches, businesses and individuals to raise funds and implement sustainable programs to release orphaned and vulnerable children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enabling them to become responsible and fulfilled adults.

The winter weather looked as if it was going to squash any hopes of having some fun on the beach but when we arrived at Fish Hoek beach the clouds parted and we spent 2 glorious hours playing on the beach. After playing some ice-breaking and team building games we set about building sand castles and frolicking in the water. Afterwards the children taught the volunteers how to dance... the volunteers then taught Westlake how to line dance! We set off for a leisurely lunch at Tokai Spur before heading to Muizenburg Promenade for Karate with Sensei Miles and Sempei Melvin, playing on the jungle gyms and Putt putt at Muizenburg Mini Putt.
