Big Bay

Mfuleni Youth

Big Fun in Big Bay

We started the New Year by visiting Big Bay with 45 Youth aged 9 to 18 years from the Mfuleni Community. Unemployment, lack of education, HIV/AIDS and crime are some of the most pressing problems in this township but the people of Mfuleni have stayed and worked together towards uplifting their community and making it a better place for all.

We enjoyed our time together over a delicious lunch at the Golden Bay Spur looking out at the beautiful view of Table Mountain before hitting Big Bay beach for a great time! At the beach we will built sandcastles, splashed in the water and play soccer and some other games. The competition was tight as 4 teams competed to see who would build the biggest and most creative sandcastle. I must say the winners were very pleased with them selves :)

Florence from Mfuleni said, 'Thank you so much for a wonderful day. We and the kids enjoyed every moment of it!'

Thank you to our amazing sponsors; Spur Foundation and HCI Foundation for your assistance with this day!
