Choo Choo! Train and Magic Fun

On the 22nd of February we took a group of 35 children aged between 4 and 10 years old from Bonteheuwal from our beneficiary partner - Unexpected Opportunities.

The day started with all the kids and volunteers meeting at the lovely Colleens (unexpected opportunities co founder) house and made way to Mouille Point on the Golden Arrow bus. The kids had lots of fun on the bus and were very excited to see what was in store for them.

Sisanda staff and the awesome magician Jacques le Sueur were waiting at the park and setting up our private space by the jungle gym and jumping castle.

When the kids arrived they were ready for action and fun - after having a yummy breakfast picnic we had rounds of magic and train rides. The children lovvvved the train ride so much and were screaming with joy going round and round the train track. The magic show was so cute and fun and the kids were laughing and trying to guess how the tricks were done. Some of the children looked so inspired we might have a few of them growing up to learn a trick or two!

After the magic and train rides, the volunteers handed out bubbles which had whistles on top and it really made the park come to life with the sounds of the whistles all around! They ran around playing in the park, with the bubbles and volunteers and really had a blast.

After such a jam packed morning - their tummies were starting to grumble and we headed off the amazing Spur at V&A. The kids gobbled up their burgers and we started saying our goodbyes.

A big shout out to the following organizations and people:

• The Spur Foundation for providing us with delicious food in a welcoming and child friendly space to refuel and ensure the children have had a warm meal in their day
• The HCI Foundation for providing us with transport to access the children and our chosen activities throughout Cape Town
• Truworths for providing us with our beautifully bright and colourful t-shirts, making us stand out from the crowd and allowing us to safely identify the group at all times
•Moeheen our activity leader
•Jacques le Sueur the magician that put smiles and amusement in the kids eyes
•Colleen from unexpected opportunities for being a super star and arranging the kids from Bonteheuwal and for arranging awesome volunteers that made great buddies to the kids

Thank you to one and all - this day would not have been so FUN without you!
