Flower Power!

"Where flowers bloom, so does hope" - Lady Bird Johnson

We had the privilege of hosting 40 energetic learners from Ukhanyo Primary School in Masiphumelele on Saturday. The day started off at the Central Fire Station on Roeland Street, where the children were taught about fire safety and what to do in an emergency. After which, the fun started! Each child had an opportunity to be a firefighter and spray the hoses and ride in the trucks, which left everyone with huge smiles! This was most certainly the highlight of the day!

After all the excitement, it was time to refuel and once again, the Rodeo Spur in Claremont did a great job of feeding all the hungry tummies! Nadia and Mahier from Rodeo Spur treated each child to a Spur goodie bag and needless to say, the kids loved it!

Once everyone was recharged, we headed off to the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens for a Spring Scavenger Hunt. It was an opportunity to walk through the gardens and explore the wonders of the Cape Floral Kingdom - a wonderful way to end the day!
