Funny Bunny

This day was a day full of fact is was a little on the warm side.... full of laughter, fun and chocolate. Our group arrived at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, paired up into groups and set off for a nice walk around to see some of our beautiful surroundings. The drifts of flowers were a riot of purple and orange against the brightest green lawns. We settled down for a lunch of hot dogs, apples, carrots, juice and a lollipop and for the first time ever... I could not believe how much the children ate! We went through so many hot dogs! After lunch we frolicked on the lawn, did face-painting, relaxed on blankets, ran some races and played some good old-school games like 'Wolfy, wolfy what's the time?' and 'Catch the dragon's tail'. The egg and spoon races were a huge hit (until the eggs all got eaten) and then the favourite race became the three-legged race where team work was essential! The high-light of the afternoon was the treasure hunt.  With clues that lead the group from the otter pond to the 100 year old centarian oak tree and back towards our camp again. The kids were literally sprinting to catch our Sisanda Bunnies and collect their special treasure packs. After we were all tuckered out we said our goodbyes and headed for home.
