Ratanga Junction

Lourier Primary School

Inspired to Succeed!

On Saturday, the 21st April, 7 Learners from Lourier Primary School in Retreat who participated in the BEEing Art Circle with Anja, raised funds from selling the arts and crafts bags they made. With the money they raised, they unanimously decided to go to Ratanga Junction and have some fun on the exciting rides!

The children were gleaming with excitement as they entered the theme park, all wearing their colourful Sisanda t-shirts. There was a buzz all round with the children deciding on the rides they’d like to go on, with the wild Monkey Falls being the favourite!

After enjoying the rides at Ratanga Junction, the children headed to Utah Spur in Sable Square, who were absolutely amazing and accommodating to the children. The children enjoyed the play area, especially the trampoline and the face painting.

There are many people who make our days possible and it is important to us to recognise and acknowledge their involvement. So, THANK YOU to:

The Spur Foundation for sponsoring our lunch and to Utah Spur for making the Spur experience a memorable one for the children. When one of the children were asked about leaving, they exclaimed: “I never want to leave Spur, I want to play here forever!” This about sums up the excitement and joy the children felt on this memorable day!

Truworths for sponsoring the colourful and bright Sisanda t-shirts, the children truly loved them!

Detlef Horster, a lecturer in Germany, for sponsoring the Circle and contributing to making this special occasion a success.

Our Sisanda team, who puts in the effort and ground work in pulling the day together. With the support of Micaela and Bonga, as well as our long-standing volunteer, Simone, the day was a great success.

To end off the day, the children were given colourful goodie bags filled with a Spur toy and magazine, and various other treats. What a special way to end off the day!
