Truworths Sports Day

On Saturday the 10th of June, Truworths sponsored an amazing Sporting Day for 34 children and 3 carers from Baphumelele Children's Home in Khayelitsha. We were joined by 18 volunteers from Truworths, who brought a lot of energy and gees to the day!

Despite the chilly weather and trickles of rain, everyone was excited and rearing to go. Our first stop was at Montague Arena for a round-robin soccer tournament. The two referees, Gareth and Brandon took us through a warm up and then split the group into different teams. Once everyone was on the field and the first whistle blew, the competition started to heat up! Thank you to EvoTec Plastics for providing bottles for the day so that everyone could stay hydrated and refreshed in between the soccer games.

When the final whistle blew, both volunteers and children were exhausted and ready for lunch. Veronique and her team at Utah Spur hosted us once again and prepared a healthy and nutritious meal for everyone. Thank you to Spur foundation for filling our tummies in a safe and warm environment.

Once everyone was recharged, we made our way to HangTime in Belville, where Vanessa and her team were eagerly awaiting our arrival. Everyone was given a safety briefing, and in no time, both children and volunteers were harnessed and climbing the gym walls. This was certainly the highlight of everyone's day!

Thank you to the HCI Foundation along with Golden Arrow in providing us with transport for the day - you truly are 'The Bus For Us'

A special thank you to all our volunteers who spent the day with us and helped create magical memories!
