Women’s Day 2014 for Sisanda was another great celebration and we were lucky enough to partner with Cosmopolitan SA who provided the venue at their head office in Town. This day is really important for women all over the world so we were privileged enough to host 37 lovely and energetic young teenagers from Sozo Foundation. Besides for the fun games and icebreakers which allow the volunteers and teenagers to get to know each other it was also a very inspirational and educational day for the Sozo girls. Cosmo had four of their successful ladies (Cathy Lund, Bev Nates, Poppy Evans and Juana Parathyras ) take time out to speak to the girls about empowerment, life skills, fashion, beauty and health. We were also lucky enough to have Virginia Mohamed from Golden Arrow speak to the ladies about education and career. We then headed to the Company Gardens for fresh air and a small workout to teach the girls that health and exercise is very important to maintain a good lifestyle, we then all enjoyed a delicious Spur burger thanks to our dedicated sponsors, Spur Foundation. After lunch it was back indoors to end with fun, pampering and dancing thanks to Essence.
Thank you to all those special people who contributed to a very successful Women’s Day. To Cosmo for making the day happen, Essence for their make-up artists, products and gifts and Foschini for donating a pair of shoes to each Sozo lady. Danny for taking photo's of the beautiful young women, Jacqui Andersen, Jason Delplanque, Sam Dancer and the ladies from BKM for the snacks. To Natalie Delplanque for "joining" the Essence crew for the day to help out with make-up. Thank you to Wellness Warehouse for donating magazines and face masks, and to Rocket for donating socks.
A massive thank you to our two main Sponsors, without them we would struggle to keep our Fun Days going:
Spur Steak Ranches for feeding all the children who attend these magnificent days.
Golden Arrow/HCI for transporting the children to all the various venues around Cape Town because without you the children would not be able to participate in these days.
