The prime purpose of being four is to enjoy being four - of secondary importance is to prepare for being five

Invsting in Sisanda FunDaytion

Deciding how to invest in South Africa’s future, its children, can be challenging considering the vast areas of need and the numbers of communities experiencing challenges. Directing already scarce resources towards Fun and Recreation can feel hard to justify, until you break down the inherent and long-term benefits of a happier healthier child. Truworths, one of our key sponsors has recognised this and annually works with us to achieve a society where children are inspired to have hopes and dreams for the future and the confidence to move out to new spaces and connect with new friends. Amongst other areas of support for Sisanda FunDaytion, Truworths annually sponsor a Fun Day where a group of their staff volunteer and experience the benefits of becoming active citizens .

A few years ago, Emily Wong volunteered with us while she was in Cape Town on an exchange program from America. On her return, she was inspired to support us and has been one of our biggest champions overseas ever since. Emily & her husband Max, generously asked their wedding guests to donate to Sisanda in lieu of gifts to the couple, surprising & delighting us, and offering a hundred children the chance to celebrate in their joy. (Read the Emily Wong story below)

Another big-hearted move was from Detlef Horsterwho, all the way from Germany donated his birthday gifts to help us continue creating smiles for our children.

We love all these ideas and hope to hear yours soon!
